Banking Stocks in the Spotlight: IntesaSanpaolo Strong, FinecoBank and Interpump Struggle

Banking stocks remain in the spotlight. IntesaSanpaolo consolidates the rise, after the release of the 2023 budget data. FinecoBank and Interpump in the red

The major Italian Stock Exchange indices and the main European financial markets record fractional increases.

At 4.35pm FTSEMib it gained 0.43% to 31,087 points, after having fluctuated between a minimum of 30,983 points and a maximum of 31,171 points. At the same time the FTSE Italia All Share it was up 0.45%. Plus sign also for the FTSE Italia Mid Cap (+0.68%) and for the FTSE Italia Star (+0,08%).

Il bitcoin it returned above 43,000 dollars (over 40,000 euros).

Lo spread Btp-Bund consolidates at 155 points, with the yield of the ten-year BTP which dropped to 3.85%.

L’euro remains below $1.075.

Banking sector stocks remain in the spotlightafter the increases achieved in the previous session.

Intesa Sanpaolo consolidates the rise (+0.75% to 2.887 euros), after the release of the 2023 financial statement data, which, according to the management, confirmed the institution’s ability to generate sustainable profitability even in complex contexts, with a net profit driven by net interest which exceeded 7.7 billion of Euro. IntesaSanpaolo also provided an indication of the financial estimates for 2024 and approved the balance on the 2024 dividend (relating to the 2023 financial year) of 0.152 euros per share.

The positive trend continues UniCredit (+0,19% a 28,88 euro). Several investment banks have revised their assessment of the institute led by Andrea Orcel after the release of the financial statement data for the 2023 financial year.

Better performance for BPER Bank (+1,58%).

FinecoBank confirms itself in negative territory (-2.52% to 12.755 euros), after the release of the 2023 financial results. For the 2024 financial year, management estimates consolidated revenues around last year’s levels, with an improvement in the mix in favor of commissions. The cost/income is expected to be less than 30%, thanks to the scalability of the platform and operational efficiency. The CET1 and Leverage Ratio expected to grow: the objective for the Leverage Ratio is to remain above 4.5%.

Oil sector stocks are recoveringafter the price of crude oil in New York (contract expiring in March 2024) rose to 73 dollars a barrel.

ENI gains 1.68% to 14.616 euros. Good too Saipem (+1,75%) e Tenaris (+2,13%).

Interpump recorded a decline of 5.84% to 44.33 euros. Equita sim analysts have reduced the target price on the company, bringing it from 54 euros to 53 euros; however, experts confirmed the buy indication of the shares.

At FTSEMib the progress of. stands out Leonardo (+3,79% a 16,86 euro).
