Jakarta –
President Director of Bank Victoria Syariah (BVS) Dery Januar opened his voice regarding allegations of missing customer funds. This was in response to PT Pool Advista Finance Tbk (POLA)’s confession that deposit funds amounting to IDR 13.5 billion at BVS had not been paid.
He said that Pool Advista funds were not actually lost. Because the bank records all customer transactions properly.
“The fact is that the Pool claims deposit funds at BVS with deposit slips that are not registered with the bank,” he told detikcom via short message, Thursday (4/1/2024).
To ensure this, his party has reported it to Bareskrim Polri and carried out an audit process both internally, OJK, and a forensic audit by an independent consultant.
“Currently the police process is still ongoing, we hope that all parties can respect the legal process,” he said.
The OJK has also opened its voice regarding this issue. Chief Executive of OJK Banking Supervision, Dian Ediana Rae, said that his party had received reports from banks and customers regarding this issue.
“OJK has received reports from the Bank and complaints from several customers regarding incidents of embezzlement of customer funds by unscrupulous Bank employees,” he said.
He further explained that the OJK had taken the necessary steps in accordance with the provisions and encouraged the accelerated resolution of these problems by asking banks to resolve customer complaints in accordance with POJK No.6/POJK.07/2022 concerning Consumer and Public Protection in the Financial Services Sector. He said BVS was committed to solving this case.
“The bank has committed to resolving the case in accordance with POJK Consumer Protection and has reported the perpetrator to law enforcement officials, the process is still ongoing to this day,” said Dian.
