Bank robbery or old horror movie? That’s what this scary outfit is all about

At this sight it can be scary. The West Hesse police shared this photo on Thursday – and made a statement.

West Hesse – When looking at this photo, it will certainly be very different for the faint-hearted viewer. But what about this strangely masked and quite creepy gun man? An explanation for this was provided by West Hessian Police on Thursday.

A creepy face covering with narrow viewing slits, a protective vest reminiscent of old crooks’ stripes, a retro pistol in hand, plus pleated trousers with a wide flap.

This is how the “outfit” of the police actually turned out to be when it really got down to business, in other words for an operation where it could be quite dangerous

The West Hessian officials shared the corresponding snapshot, which “only” shows an operational exercise, on theirs Instagram channel.

The police did not answer the exact year the black and white photo was taken.

However, the author of the post made it clear that it was neither a bank robbery carried out with ancient utensils nor a scene from the Hollywood shocker film “The Purge” – so lucky!

While the face covering, which probably only allowed a hint of field of vision, was described as enormously creepy, the police officers of the modern age were more than impressed by the fashionable daring of the old days – one had to dare to combine such protective equipment with pleated trousers.

And the commentators on the photo were also surprised at what police clothing once looked like. While one user was previously only familiar with the viewing slits in the “helmet” from Russian forces, another thought the outfit looked very dangerous.

Last but not least, two other users wanted to mention other highlights of the age-old police presentation. On the one hand, the “safety shoes” that “round off” the outfit were highlighted. And the pistol holster with push button also caused a lot of enthusiasm.

Whether today’s law enforcement officers could still do anything with these utensils – one may doubt it.
