The international Julius Br Group has made a global donation budget of five million Swiss francs available for emergency aid projects in the current corona crisis.
In Germany, where the bank has ten branches, donations amounting to EUR 100,000 will go to the food banks, which play a key role in the food supply for socially and economically disadvantaged people, according to a press release.
“In the current situation, the important work of the Tafel faces particularly great challenges,” says Knut Hartlieb, head of the Wrzburg branch of the bank, which supports the Wrzburger Tafel with a donation of 10,000 euros.
The bank deliberately chose this form of on-site help at all ten German locations. “Our work in Wrzburg is closely linked to the region,” says Hartlieb. “It is therefore important to us that our donation also benefits the people here.”
The Wrzburg Tafel Association announced that it would use the donation to fund a new refrigerated vehicle urgently and to cover running vehicle fleet costs.
