Bangladesh made history; First Test win against Kiwis at home

Sylhet: Bangladesh won the first Test at home against New Zealand. Bangladesh wrote history by winning by 150 runs in the first Test of the series. Bangladesh bowled out the Kiwis for 181 runs after setting a target of 332 runs in the second innings. Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam, who took 10 wickets in the match, including six wickets in the second innings, led Bangladesh to victory. With the win, Bangladesh took the lead in the two-match series (1-0).

Score: Bangladesh 310/10, 338/10, New Zealand – 317/10, 181/10.

Daryl Mitchell scored 58 runs in the second innings and was the top scorer for the Kiwis. Captain Tim Southee (34), Devon Conway (22) and Ish Sodhi (22) innings reduced the weight of Kiwis’ loss.

Tom Latham (0), Kane Williamson (11), Henty Nicholls (2) and Tom Blundell (6) all disappointed.
