Bangkalan Police Raids the House of Stolen Motorcycle Collectors, the Video Goes Viral

Circulating in the community, video clips of when the police raided a house containing a dozen motorbikes. The narrative that went viral with the video stated that the incident took place in Bangkalan Regency and that the vehicles were allegedly stolen.

AKP Bangkit Dananjaya, Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bangkalan Police, confirmed the viral video.

“The video is the end of a series of disclosures of the theft case. Yesterday afternoon, Monday (11/4/2022), we arrested three perpetrators of theft. This morning at around 01.30 WIB, just before dawn, we arrested the custodian, at his house, in Jaddih Village, Socah District, Bangkalan Regency,” he told Surabaya Voice RadioTuesday (12/4/2022) afternoon.

The number of motorbikes that were secured from the detention house reached 15 units. The condition is mostly still good, can be driven. Some have been dismantled to remove traces.

“Five motorcycles have been identified, the report is at the Bangkalan Police. Some are L plates, some are M plates,” said Bangkit.

According to Bangkit, the three people arrested on Monday were new perpetrators. They admitted that they started stealing motorbikes two to three months ago. After stealing, they hand over or sell all the proceeds of their crime to middlemen.(iss/ipg)
