Bang in Vegas! Carr is no longer a starting quarterback

Blast in Vegas! Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels announced that Derek Carr would not be the starting quarterback for the remaining two games of the season.

But not only that: Carr was not only given, but directly kicked out of the Raiders. His place against the San Francisco 49ers will be filled by Jarrett Stidham, who has never started in the NFL and has just 61 assists in the league.

Carr is no longer in the lineup

“None of us are happy with where we are,” McDaniels said at a news conference Wednesday. “But we think it’s a good opportunity for a young player who hasn’t shown much yet.”

Steedham’s backup will be Chase Garbers – Carr will be inactive on Sunday.

Carr leads the NFL in steals. His pass fell into the hands of an opponent already 14 times this season – only on the last day in a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers with a score of 10:13, Carr scored three peaks.

McDaniels: There is work to be done

“We talked to Derek, and he understands the situation we’re in now,” McDaniels said, immediately explaining what the move to the quarterback position means. “There are a lot of things to work on after the season.”

According to NFL insider Ari Meirov, the Raiders will save nearly $30 million through the roof by trades or career cuts. The decision will have to be made no later than three days after the Super Bowl, but the door is already wide open.

Carr signed a three-year, $121.5 million contract extension last April, but it included a clause that allowed the Raiders to opt out during the offseason.
