XXXLutz decides to close six Lipo branches.

Operations in Reinach, Winterthur and St. Gallen will end next year.

Other locations become Mömax, Conforama and XXXLutz.
After purchasing the Lipo furniture stores, the new owner XXXLutz is cleaning up. The Austrian giant, which is one of the five largest furniture retailers in the world and which now also owns Möbel Pfister and Conforama, is closing several Lipo branches.
In Reinach (BL), Winterthur and St. Gallen it will end next year. The company informs its employees of this in a letter. Further operation of the locations does not make sense from an economic perspective.
Other Lipo shops are moving in in Suhr, Interlaken and Pratteln
Lipo will also be ready next year in Suhr (AG), Interlaken (BE) and Pratteln (BL). XXXLutz replaces these locations with other brands. Mömax is moving into Suhr, Conforama is moving into Interlaken and XXXLutz is moving into Pratteln.
Upon request, the Lipo press office confirmed that Lipo will separate from the six branches. “We are currently working on positioning the Lipo brand more clearly in the Swiss market as a discount furniture store.” The branches to be closed would not fit into this positioning strategy due to the catchment area, sales potential and customer frequency.
The reduction in branch locations did not result in any layoffs. All approximately 70 employees could continue their current work seamlessly under the same conditions and with the same task profile in other Lipo branches or, now, for Mömax, Conforama and XXXLutz.
This reduces the number of Lipo branches from 22 to 16.
