Nine individuals, including Bandung Mayor Yana Mulyana, were arrested in an anti-corruption operation by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on April 14, 2023. The KPK seized cash as evidence in connection to an ongoing investigation into a bribery case related to the procurement of CCTV installations and internet service providers. Mulyana and the other suspects were taken to KPK Headquarters for questioning and the agency will determine their status within 24 hours. West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil instructed officials to ensure that public services remain smooth despite the arrests and municipal secretary Ema Sumarna will take over decision-making during the Eid al-Fitr period.
