Bandar Lampung (Lampost.co) — The Department of Education and Culture (Disdikbud) of Bandar Lampung City welcomed the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccination or cervical vaccination for grade 5 elementary school students.
This was conveyed by the Acting Head of Basic Education (Dikdas) of the Bandar Lampung City Education and Culture Office, Mulyadi Syukri.
“Of course we really welcome this HPV vaccination for the health of our children, especially grade 5 elementary school students,” said Mulyadi, Wednesday, August 9, 2023.
According to Mulyadi, the HPV vaccination was carried out to prevent uterine cancer for young women in Bandar Lampung. Countermeasures initially started from elementary education. “Because these young women need the HPV vaccine to prevent uterine cancer,” he explained.
He explained, this HPV vaccination will be carried out by the Community Health Center in each student area. “Technically, this is carried out by the Puskesmas in Bandar Lampung,” he said.
Socialization
Before carrying out the vaccination, Mulyadi said, his party would first conduct outreach to grade 5 elementary school students.
“Later they (Puskesmas) will come to the school to conduct outreach first, then record the students who will be vaccinated,” he said.
Mulyadi explained, regarding this HPV vaccination, his party had also coordinated with the Bandar Lampung City Health Office.
“We have coordinated with the Bandar Lampung Health Office. They have contacted me directly. The letter has reached the agency, and we will follow up soon and we will convey it to schools in Bandar Lampung City,” he concluded.
