Bandaged foot: St. Pauli worries about Jackson Irvine

The personnel situation at FC St. Pauli is more relaxed than it has been for a long time, with Luca Zander (Corona), Christopher Avevor (rehab after knee surgery) and Jannes Wieckhoff (also knee), only three professionals are missing from the training camp in Benidorm, Spain.

At least for Tuesday, the hospital expanded to include another player. Jackson Irvine’s left foot was kicked in a tackle that morning. First he tried to continue the session, then he stopped training.

Physiotherapist James Morgan bandaged the Australian’s foot while still on the lawn. A diagnosis is just as little known as the severity of the lesion.

Irvine was able to attend the second training session in the afternoon as a spectator, with 14 league appearances this season.
