The band Jelen decided to celebrate its tenth birthday on stage in style and held a concert on Saturday evening in the largest hall in the Czech Republic. The band’s frontman Jindra Polák revealed that he also celebrated his 44th birthday on the same day. In an interview for TN.cz, he talked about the ride he experienced with the group over the years. He is mostly grateful for the fact that they are still such great friends.
The band Jelen won their first O2 arena for their 10th birthday. Although it was her biggest concert so far, the musicians did not show their nervousness. “I have to say that I feel good so far. We have two weeks of rehearsals and two months before that, so we are curious to see what it will be like when we see that full hall of people.” frontman Jindra Polák confided to TN.cz that he performed a great show in front of a full O2 arena.
He was surprised that the fans bought tickets like crazy and sold out the whole hall. “We were very pleasantly surprised because we didn’t expect it to sell out so quickly and smoothly. When we found out, it warmed our hearts very nicely. Because it’s great to have fans who want to spend our celebration with us and who will support us , will hold and go with us,” boasted the singer.
He experienced ten wonderful years with Jelen Polák, for which he is very grateful. “It was a very nice and unexpected ride. We were always lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time and experience things we never dreamed of,” said the frontman modestly.
They mainly enjoy playing. “We never put a ceiling on how far we could go. But music took us to places we couldn’t even imagine,” explained Polák. They started with Jeleny as a support band for Divoký Bill.
They are said to have had quite a ride together. “We’ve had a few parties before, but we’re definitely going to have an afterparty on Saturday. It’s also my 44th birthday and the guys won’t forget to remind me, so I bought a bottle and I think we’ll celebrate it all tonight.” the frontman of Jeleny smiled. For example, they invited the singer Kateřina Maria Tichou, who has been performing with them for almost ten years, to the big celebration.
Although a large part of the band members have started a family over the years, some are still looking for love and do not hesitate to meet it at the concert. “I think that our drummer Víťa is still single and that he is so smart and cheerful and fun to be with, so if you don’t have plans for the evening yet, come and Víťa is here.” joked the Pole.
He himself is curious about where Jelena’s fate will take her next. “The universe is big and we will still be surprised. As I said, we don’t have any long-term plans to go out and conquer the world, we rather want to play and keep the good atmosphere we have.” the singer confided.
