Barnstorf / Diepholz – Their music is a little harder to the point. The band “Endstation” from Barnstorf / Diepholz makes German punk rock – but definitely melodic. “We play our own songs, no cover,” says singer Susann Cordes. The band’s rehearsal room in Hülsmeyer Park in Eydelstedt is currently unused due to the corona pandemic. Nevertheless, “Endstation” is not idle, rehearsing online – and is successful.

She came third out of 450 bands from all over Germany who took part in the newcomer competition of the private radio station “Rock Antenne” and the Music Store (Cologne). On Wednesday, April 21st, “Endstation” can be heard in the evening at “Rock Antenne” and thus – after many live appearances in pubs and smaller locations – reaches a larger radio audience. On streaming services such as Deezer, Spotify, Amazon and Tunes “Endstation” songs have been heard for a long time.

A jury of experts selected 40 rock groups from the 450 applicants, which then submitted to the vote of the listeners. “At times we were in first place,” said Susann Cordes (31), who comes from Prinzhöfte near Harpstedt, happy about the very good third place – just like her band colleagues. These are guitarist Philipp Jaksch (32) from Vechta, bassist Mario Leupers (36) from Wildeshausen and drummer Marco Stelljes (39) from Barnstorf.

The four hobby musicians founded „Endstation“ in autumn 2016. In September 2019 the band recorded the EP “Schwarzer Diamant”. It also features the song “No Applause”, with which “Endstation” applied for the competition.

“With our lyrics we tell stories and experiences and we also want to clarify our opinions,” explains singer Susann: “We call ourselves ‘Endstation’ because we wanted a memorable German name that cannot be assigned to any style.”

The current success in the band competition is certainly not the end of the line for the four musicians.
