Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Chairman of the MPR RI Bambang Soesatyo (bamsoet) mentions the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani do not respect the leadership agency. Because, on several occasions, Sri Mulyani did not attend the MPR invitation to discuss refocussing budget.
Bambang explained that the MPR leadership at the Leadership Meeting yesterday also asked the woman who is familiarly called Ani to respect the relationship between high state institutions. He also emphasized what the Deputy Chairperson of the MPR, Fadel Muhammad, said that the current Minister of Finance is difficult to work with the MPR.
“He has been invited several times by the leadership of the MPR, Sri Mulyani has never come. Two days before being invited to a meeting, she always cancels coming. This shows that Sri Mulyani does not respect the MPR as a high state institution,” said the man who is familiarly called Bamsoet in his written statement, Wednesday (1/12).
Bamsoet said, several times the MPR Budget Board invited Sri Mulyani to a meeting to discuss refocusing Covid-19 response budget. But every invited did not attend.
In fact, he said, who is also a Golkar politician, the MPR always supports the government’s various performances in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic and national economic recovery.
Previously, the MPR leadership asked President Joko Widodo to dismiss Finance Minister Sri Mulyani from her position. The MPR leadership considered that Ani was incompetent in managing sustainable government policies.
MPR Deputy Chairman Fadel Muhammad said one of the reasons for Jokowi’s request to dismiss Ani was the MPR budget cuts. In fact, the number of MPR leaders has changed from four to 10 during this period.
“We in this MPR have 10 leaders, first there were only four people, then 10 people. The budget in the MPR is even lower, it keeps going down,” Fadel told reporters at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday (30/11).
Therefore, Fadel said, 10 MPR leaders had a joint meeting and as a result asked President Jokowi to remove Ani.
“So we, on behalf of the leadership of the MPR of the Republic of Indonesia, propose to the President of the Republic of Indonesia to dismiss the sister of the Minister of Finance,” he said.
CNNIndonesia.com has attempted to contact the Head of the Communications and Information Services Bureau of the Ministry of Finance, Rahayu Puspasari, regarding this matter. However, since yesterday there has been no response until this news was revealed.
