A differentiated range of corona rapid tests or “citizen tests” is one of the essential components of combating pandemics. HTK Hygiene Technologie Kompetenzzentrum Bamberg GmbH not only operates several rapid test centers in the city, but also carries out an accompanying scientific study.
The use of citizen tests in Bamberg is examined. Of particular interest is a possible connection between the local test volume and factors such as weather, corona guidelines, incidence or vaccination rate. In addition, the test motivation should be determined, i.e. which individual motives are decisive for using the test offer. The city of Bamberg supports the HTK survey and calls for active participation. “Rapid tests continue to ensure safety. The study helps us to understand exactly for what purposes they are used and to adapt the offer to the needs of the citizens, ”says Mayor Andreas Starke.
