CANCUN, Q. ROO.- London calls the NFL again and in this Week 6 it will have its third game of the season, when the Ravens and Titans face each other at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. This is the second match that both teams have played in England. Baltimore was in 2017, while Tennessee made the trip in 2018.
This is the third of five regular season games scheduled on this continent, after the two played by the Jaguars, the first against the Falcons at Wembley and the second against the Bills at the Spurs’ property. In addition to the two games that will take place in Germany: Dolphins against Chiefs and Colts against Patriots.
The popularity of American football in Europe has grown and this surprised some players. “It’s kind of crazy that he’s known in London, some guys with a British accent asked me if ‘it was Lamar’, we took a photo, it was fun,” said Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.
In 2017, when Baltimore visited England for the first time, they suffered a 7-44 loss to Jacksonville. The quarterback hopes to obtain a victory abroad and stressed the importance of adapting quickly to the new schedule.
“I think it is important to get here sooner. It will help us a lot, instead of making a quick trip. Probably in one more day I will be 100 percent,” stressed Jackson, who has 100 completions for 1,300 yards, with four touchdowns this season.
While the Titans return to London, after the loss they suffered 19-20 against the Chargers in 2018. Running back Derrick Henry was in that game and from that season on he became a reference for Tennessee.
For now, Baltimore arrives with three games won and two lost, while the Titans have two wins and three losses.
