Kaliningrad “Baltika” played a draw with “Rostov” in the eighth round of the national championship. The meeting took place at the Rostec Arena on Saturday, September 16, reports the Klops correspondent.
In the first half, our team looked unimpressive. The Rostov team scored already in the 16th minute. Yellow-blue midfielder Daniil Utkin took advantage of the confusion of the Baltika defense and sent the ball into the goal of Evgeniy Latyshonok from the edge of the penalty area. Attempts by the Kaliningrad team to approach the visitors’ goal failed, and Rostov doubled its lead before the break. Striker Egor Golenkov did this, completing his partner’s pass into the empty goal of the Baltic team in the 43rd minute.
The hosts played the second half of the game more actively. The powerful onslaught of the Kaliningraders led to several dangerous moments. In one such attack, the Baltics found their goal. In the 86th minute, after a serve from the flank, the ball was sent into the top corner of the Rostov goal by Chilean Angelo Henriques, who came on as a substitute in place of Gedeon Guzina. We managed to equalize the score at the end of the game. This was done by forward Christian Bistrovich, who had been on loan from the capital’s CSKA the day before, and made his debut for the Kaliningrad club after the break. 2:2 – Baltika interrupted a four-game losing streak.
