In less than a day, all Balmoral Castle tours will be sold out next summer. Sales for tours of the British royal family’s summer home began on Wednesday. It is the first time that visitors can visit certain parts of the Scottish castle.
During the tour, visitors will have the opportunity to “travel through time” in the castle, which was completed in 1855 and purchased by then Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. Previously only the castle’s ballroom and garden could be visited, but now visitors can also take a look at other areas of Balmoral. This includes the dining room, the library and the room where Queen Elizabeth invited then Conservative leader Liz Truss to become Prime Minister of Great Britain just before her death in 2022.
A total of forty tickets were available per day. The tours are for groups of up to ten people and take place from July 1 to August 4.
