Tourist tours of Balmoral Castle, which will give visitors the opportunity to touch the interior of the Scottish residence of the British royal family for the first time, have sold out within just 24 hours, DPA and BTA reported.
Guided tours of the castle will run from July 1 to August 4, but tickets sold out on the first day they went on sale yesterday. The tours will be organized before King Charles III and Queen Camilla arrive at the castle for their summer vacation, with groups limited to 10 people at a time and 40 people per day.
Until now, visitors were only allowed into the ballroom and gardens of the mansion, which was completed in 1855 and bought by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
The sold out “inside tours” were priced at 100 each. pounds or 150 pcs. pounds including afternoon: tea.
The tours are advertised as a “historic flight through some of Balmoral Castle’s most beautiful rooms, taking you back in time” from the Victorian era to the present day.
In September 2022, Queen Elizabeth II was photographed in the drawing room at Balmoral as she awaits Conservative leader Liz Treas, who was about to become Prime Minister and form a government.
Two days later, on September 8, the Queen died.
