Hamburg – The Handball Sport Club Hamburg has the important encounter in front of 3,150 spectators in the Hamburg sports hall against the bottom team and the feared opponent HBW Balingen-Weilstetten in the end with oneaccording to the course of the game, Finished in 28:28 (14:12). Both teams ended their losing streak.

Balingen’s goalkeeper El-Tayar drives Hamburg to despair

After 40 seconds, HBW Balingen-Weilstetten made it 1-0, Hamburg responded with a 4-0 run, despite a seven-meter save by Mohamed El-Tayar from Casper Ulrich Mortensen and three missed counterattacks, making it 4-1. Balingen’s keeper El-Tayar nailed his goal so that the Hamburgers were unable to score for nine minutes. Coach Torsten Jansen’s time out didn’t change anything either. Balingen took advantage of this with a 5-0 run and took the lead 6-4 (17th) with a seven-meter shot. With twice the number outnumbered, HSV Hamburg scored the next goal to make it 5:6 (18th). A draw ends a losing streak for both teams

Captain Weller opened the second half with the 15:12 after just 32 seconds, but somehow Balingen’s goalkeeper El-Tayar seemed to be on Hamburg’s minds. Time and again he was the last stop, even with clear opportunities. So the “Gallians from the Alp” caught up goal by goal, equalized at 20:20 (46th), immediately after the second team time-out, and made it 21:20. From now on, Hamburg was behind. While Bitter had gotten his hands on the ball in the first half, it now slipped through him, which led to the switch to Jens Vortmann in the 46th minute. At the start of the last ten minutes, the guests moved ahead from 22:22 to 26:22 (53rd). At 23:27 (54th), the drop seemed to have been lost for Balingen, but a very offensive HSVH defense caused problems for the “Gauls” and Vortmann defused crucial balls. The equalizer was made 27:27 by Mortensen after winning the ball in defense when there were almost two minutes left to play. After Vortmann had given his colors possession of the ball with a save in the last minute, coach Torsten Jansen took his final timeout 41 seconds before the end. Jacob Lassen scored 28:27 when there were still nine seconds left on the hall clock. A quick middle and the direct move to the goal gave the guests a seven-meter penalty almost before the final siren. Oddur Gretarsson converted this to equalize, which was celebrated frenetically by HBW. Captain Niklas Weller mourns the many chances after the game
