Bali United was held to a draw Terengganu 1-1 on the second matchday AFC Cup this season. Having taken the lead first, Serdadu Tridatu finally lost towards the end of the second round.
Playing at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Wednesday (4/10/2023), Bali United faced fierce resistance from the Malaysian representative. Both teams failed to score until halftime.
In the second half, Bali United managed to break the deadlock in the 54th minute. Jajang Mulyana headed a corner kick into the front of the goal, then Privat Mbarga struck with a shot that Terengganu goalkeeper Mohd Suhaimi failed to block.
Terengganu responded in the 84th minute. Syahmi Zamri, who came on to replace Adisak Kraisorn, successfully completed Hakim Hassan’s pass into a goal to make the score equal, 1-1.
Bali tried to score a goal towards the end of the match. Muhammad Rachmat managed to get a golden opportunity in the 86th minute, but his shot was saved by Suhaimi. Until the match was over, the score remained tied at 1-1.
With this result, Bali United has collected four points in Group G standings, the same as Terengganu. Below both are Central Coast Mariners with three points and Stallion Laguna who still have no points.
