The government has lowered the PPKM status in several regions from level 4 to level 3. However, Bali and several other areas are still PPKM level 4.
“Especially for the agglomeration areas of Bali, Malang Raya, Solo Raya, DIY, it is currently still level 4,” said Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan in a virtual press conference, Monday (23/8/2021).
“But from the data we have, it will soon enter level 3 some time in the future,” he continued.
Luhut advised the regions to accelerate the recovery of the Corona virus and reduce the death rate. Corona patients who are isoman are also asked to be taken to centralized isolation.
“This is one of the keys to reducing the death rate,” said Luhut.
Now, the government has re-entered the mortality indicator to determine the level of PPKM. Previously, mortality data had not been used.
“In evaluation PPKM level 4 Above, the government has re-entered the mortality indicator as an assessment level according to the reference set by WHO,” he said.
Previously, in Jokowi’s announcement, there were several regions that were said to have dropped to PPKM level 3. The agglomeration areas included Jabodetabek, Greater Bandung, and Greater Surabaya.
