Wales face Ukraine in the 2022 World Cup play-off round. The match takes place at Cardiff Stadium, Sunday (5/6/2022) evening WIB.
Wales came out as winners with a narrow score 1-0. Andriy Yarmolenko scored an own goal after mistaking Gareth Bale’s free-kick in the 39th minute and the score held until the end.
The result makes Wales entitled to the 2022 World Cup. Furthermore, they will be in a group with England, Iran, and the United States in the preliminary round.
Gareth Bale, the star player in the Wales national team was very happy with the result. Because Bale, able to qualify himself for the World Cup since 64 years of absence!
Reported from Sky Sports, Gareth Bale is now a free transfer in the summer transfer window. Real Madrid did not renew his contract.
Unlike other players who are shrouded in rumors here and there, Bale’s name is so ‘calm’. Bale was rumored to be returning to the Premier League but it seems that Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte is not interested in him.
It is known, Bale will retire from green grass. Moreover, he is often hit by injuries.
“I’ll play a little more,” Bale said with a laugh.
Gareth Bale did not take seriously the question of him being rumored to be retiring. At the age of 32 years, Bale has indeed had a rare playing time in the last two seasons at Real Madrid.
Last season, muscle and back injuries interfered with his performance. But now, it is confirmed that Bale will be back fit and trying to take Wales further in Qatar 2022 World Cup later.
“I got a lot of offers,” Bale said briefly without telling further which clubs were interested in him.
