Baldur’s Gate III: Record-Breaking Release on PC and Anticipated Launch on Consoles

The long-awaited release of Baldur’s Gate III from early access took place on PC last night. In the first hours, the RPG broke its own record for the number of concurrent players, and at the time of this writing, the peak online in Steam exceeded 511 thousand people.

The game is also available in the service GOG, but there is no data about the players there, so you can be sure that Baldur’s Gate III online is even higher. It is worth noting that the new game has already made it to the top 3 most popular games on Steam in 2023, and during early access it was bought over 2.5 million times.

Head Running Sven Vincke thanked the players for their support and stated that a patch will be released soon. Players have already found a nasty bug with freezing due to save sync.

The role-playing adventure will reach the PlayStation 5 on September 6, and Xbox owners will be able to enjoy the RPG only in 2024. The problem is that the authors cannot get local co-op to work consistently on the Xbox Series S.
