Baldur’s Gate 3, released for Xbox Series less than a month ago, has been experiencing some issues on Xbox platforms that include account suspension. The reason behind these suspensions is the recording and uploading of clips containing sex or nudity scenes in the Larian Studios game.
The news of the bans gained prominence in the Reddit, with a post from user Daddy-Vegas, who shared a screenshot of three different suspensions on the Big Daddy LV Xbox account, related to clips of “naked fun at camp.” The longest suspension among these three will end on December 28, 2024. Several users have rallied behind him, reporting similar issues with other games.
In an interview with Dualshockers (via My city), Daddy-Vegas explained that the clips were automatically uploaded to the server via Xbox settings, resulting in the ban. The suspension is far-reaching and fundamentally alters one’s interaction with the Xbox ecosystem, including revoking privileges for streaming, uploading clips and screenshots, creating and participating in Xbox parties, editing a profile, and other forms of communication across the platform.
Daddy-Vegas reported to Kotaku that the ban occurred “within 30 seconds, without warning or chance to correct the error,” and was likely implemented by a bot.
Looking at the Xbox community standards, there is a section that requires content to be “clean,” prohibiting users from sharing screenshots and clips with “sexual content.” However, as detailed on the official Xbox website, the console’s default setting is to automatically upload footage to servers rather than simply saving it locally on the console’s hard drive. This may lead to users inadvertently violating these guidelines in games that feature nude scenes.
In the DualShockers interview, Daddy-Vegas stated that he turned off automatic uploading, but didn’t realize that the clips would be uploaded to the servers when he recorded these scenes. He argued that he would understand a short-term suspension for the error, but considers the one-year suspension excessive.

“I just took a screenshot of content presented to me as designed by Larian Studios, in a game that Xbox charged me for, using a feature for which there is literally a button in the middle of the controller,” he told DualShockers. “I made no effort to create adult content in a game, I simply documented the content presented to me in a game clearly rated M for Nudity and Strong Sexual Content. I feel like it’s as if you recorded Game of Thrones on your DVR and your video company TV suspended its service because someone was naked in the episode.”
O The Enemy contacted Xbox in search of a position and is awaiting a response. In Brazil, for now, the The Enemy did not find similar reports about people losing access to their accounts because they uploaded Baldur’s Gate 3 videos that included nudity.
