Baldur’s Gate 3 Update: Significant Optimization Breakthrough Announced

Following the latest major update to Baldur’s Gate 3, players can look forward to another very significant change. According to Swen Vincke, his team has made a breakthrough that will significantly improve optimization on all platforms.

The head of Larian Studios boasted on Twitter / X about the work of “engineers” who have finally dealt with the main obstacle to improving the performance of BG 3. We are talking about monitoring the memory use of the game and creating a “buffer” in case of sudden jumps in memory use.

This applies to both RAM and VRAM, as Vincke illustrated with two graphs showing the results of internal performance tests that have been conducted since Baldur’s Gate III launched on PC. Maybe we’ll see a performance patch before the end of this month

The official release date for Baldur’s Gate 3 on XSX/S remains unknown, but recent leaks have suggested a release date of December 6th. Larian Studios only mentioned that it wants to release the game on Microsoft consoles this year.
