Baldur’s Gate 3 Update Adds Glitch: Inventory Items from Removed Characters Dumped into Main Character’s Inventory

Looks like another update Baldur’s Gate 3 added at least one new bug to the game. We are talking about the so-called “general inventory”. After the patch, characters you remove from your party should give you quest items. However, for some reason they dump their other items into your inventory, including potions, alchemical ingredients, supplies, and keys.

Many gamers feel this way did not like:

Let me know when this is fixed by the developers or the mod. My main character is not a mule to carry all the bags and pouches of his companions when they leave the team. And I don’t want to play without sorting items into bags, it’s an overwhelming mess. In addition, orange equipment (i.e. armor and weapons) is moved to the main character’s inventory! For example, Guiding Light ring, Disintegrating Night Walkers boots, Staff of Crones, etc.

Larian has not yet commented on the situation, but this all looks like another bug. The patch clearly states that “story items” must be transferred. At the same time, the update was supposed to “stop highlighting alchemy bags, bags with camp supplies and keys as plot items.” So, according to the logic of the game itself, all these items should not be transferred to the main character’s inventory, but this still happens.

Baldur’s Gate 3 available on PC and PS5.
