Baldur’s Gate 3 has arrived and we can already speak of a great success, although the launch of such a large game inevitably brings some problems. For example, a persistent save bug appeared, which fortunately has already been addressed via a first post-launch patch, more or less anyway.
Due to the save bug it was impossible to save the game, which is of course a problem in a game like Baldur’s Gate 3. Larian Studios has now found out that the cross-saves feature is the culprit and since that function only becomes really useful from September 6, when the PS5 version will be released, it has been decided to simply disable cross-saves for the time being, which means that the save bug is also gone for a while.
Not a permanent solution, but Larian wants to work on a definitive solution between now and September 6, so let’s keep our fingers crossed that it works. Larian also emphasizes that players should not notice the hot fix in-game (aside from the fact that the bug is gone, of course), and that Steam Cloud saves will not be affected.
In addition to the save bug, more than 150 other issues were also addressed. An overview is here to find.
