Baldur’s Gate 3 recently released its fifth major patch. Players did some digging and discovered an exploit that made it easy to make money from trading.
Running tracked this moment, 13 hotfix is intended to fix various quick ways to earn money: now you cannot buy back a bag full of items for 1 gold coin; It is no longer possible to sell an empty bag at the price of the item that was once stored in it.
We also fixed a certain critical error that could occur when completing the second act.
This is how the exploit worked (and works if you play on the old version). Empty bag/container, etc. sold to a merchant, this sold bag was opened and the merchant’s items were loaded into it, and then the bag was dragged into the barter field and bought for 1 gold coin (along with all contents):
