Baldur’s Gate 3: Early PC Release, PS5 Delay, and Technical Challenges for Xbox Version

At Larian Studios, they stepped up and are surprising fans with the news of an early release for the PC version Baldur’s Gate 3. The expected RPG will arrive in full version on 8/3 instead of 8/31. On the other hand, the PlayStation 5 version is slightly delayed. It’s moving from 8/31 to 9/6. The delay isn’t drastic, but it’s interesting that it comes out on the same day Starfield od Bethesdy na Xbox Series X/S a PC.

The developers boasted that for the PS5 version they reached 60 frames per second. They will use more time to reach the desired technical bar that corresponds to their design ambitions. At the same time, they didn’t want to delay the PC version.

There are over 170 hours of cutscenes in Baldur’s Gate 3. As executive director Michael Douse noted, that’s more than twice the length of the entire Game of Thrones series and more than three times the dialogue of all three Lord of the Rings novels combined.

At the beginning of the adventure, you create your own hero representing one of the 11 playable races. Your hero can belong to one of 12 classes and 46 subclasses.

Later, Baldur’s Gate 3 may come to Xbox Series X/S. In this case, it is not a question of exclusivity, but of technical problems.

“Xbox players, we’ve seen your questions about if/when you can expect Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox. We’ve been working on the Xbox version of Baldur’s Gate 3 for a while now, but we ran into some technical issues – specifically with split-screen co-op. We’re still working on the Xbox version of BG3, but we’re not sure enough to announce it yet.”
