Baldur’s Gate 3: Disappointing PC Performance and Doubts Regarding PlayStation 5 Release

Baldur’s Gate 3 didn’t deliver on PC performance. A smooth release on the PlayStation 5 is also out of the question.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is now available on PlayStation 5 for Premium Edition owners. Tests soon surfaced, confirming Larian Studios’ concerns about the game.

Formally, Baldur’s Gate 3 has a Performance (60 FPS) and Quality (30 FPS, but better graphics) mode. In practice, it turned out that the fundamental difference in terms of picture in the modes is practically invisible.

The frame rate of Baldur’s Gate 3 is not very good, in Performance mode: outside the city, you can see drops to 30-40 FPS. In the city, the frame rate drops below 30 FPS.

If you switch to quality mode, then Baldur’s Gate 3 in the city will also give out about 30 FPS, outside the city there will be a stable 30 FPS.

The release version of Baldur’s Gate 3 didn’t work too well on PC either. The situation began to change after the release of patches, which the PlayStation 5 version was also supposed to receive. Players can only wait for decisions from the developers.
