Balcony collapsed in Liège: two dead

Two people died after the collapse of a balcony in Liège. The public prosecutor’s office of Liège has announced this.

At around 5pm Sunday afternoon, a third-floor balcony collapsed the Ryad Mogador hotel. There were four people on the balcony at the time.

A 67-year-old man died on the spot. Later, a 47-year-old woman also succumbed to her injuries. The two others were injured, including the hotel manager. They are not in danger to life.

The exact circumstances and cause of the accident are not yet known. Work was underway on the hotel, which opened in September.
