With these funds, the local government will take care of the conservation, restoration and exhibition of real cultural values and the more comprehensive disclosure of the rich cultural and historical heritage of the region – says the municipality.
The Balchik municipality project “Improving tourist attractions and related infrastructures on its territory” receives BGN 5,539,370 under the “Regional Development” operational program from the support section for the development of natural, cultural and historical attractions.
With these funds, the local government will take care of the conservation, restoration and exhibition of real cultural values and the more comprehensive disclosure of the rich cultural and historical heritage of the region – says the municipality.
The main part of the amount will be invested in the restoration of the old mill on the seashore and its transformation into a central information center.
Funds from the project will also be directed to the medieval fortress in the Horizont district in Balchik, as well as to Teketo in the village of Obrochishte.
On August 9, the mayor of Balchik Nikolay Angelov will sign a contract for the financing of another winning project – “Support for the creation and promotion of innovative cultural events”, again under the “Regional Development” operational program. With the funds from it, exceeding half a million BGN, cultural events and festivals held on the territory of the municipality will be financed.
