Bakrie & Brothers Has IDR 12 Trillion Debt, Anindya Bakrie Promises 2023 Will Be Done

Principal Director of PT Bakrie & Brothers Tbk (BNBR), Anindya Novyan Bakrie revealed that currently her company still has outstanding debts which need to be paid off immediately. He promised that his company would pay off the debt in the first quarter of 2023.

“The debt has been restructured, the largest debt is Rp. 12.283 trillion, 2022 plans have started to take steps to sort things out, hopefully most of this can be resolved in 2023 as well,” he said. said Anindya in a virtual public exposition, Tuesday (13/12/2022).

“This is done, let’s talk about Bakrie & Brothers, which is a different company. We will see that the steps are clear. It is a matter of time. Next, we will look at the debt side, which is usually used as the scourge of Bakrie & Brothers , we can leave it, especially non-productive debt,” he added.

Anindya explained that for the past 2 or 3 years the company has been focusing on debt restructuring or reduction. He hopes that in the next year the debt can be paid by the company.

“Focus of Bakrie & Brothers in the last 2-3 years and hopefully in the next 1 year, the reduction of the restructuring reduces the debt. So the main focus for Bakrie & Brothers next year is to complete our debt restructuring efforts over the past year,” he explained.

On the same occasion, PT Bakrie & Brothers Tbk (BNBR) Chief Financial Officer Roy Hendrajanto M. Sakti explained that the Rp 12 trillion debt figure was originally scheduled to be completed in 2022. However, the plan was rejected and the trustees have promised to try to pay it off in 2023.

12 trillion debt is indeed a very large number. We are already entering the Rp. 12 trillion debt settlement. We wanted to complete it at the end of this year because there are several targeted technical agreements for completion in the first quarter of next year for the same Rp. 12 trillion,” he said.

Roy said the company itself paid off its previous Rs 11.66 trillion debt. Sequentially, since 2016 the debt has been gradually paid off and paid off in 2022.

“In addition to streamlining the expansion portfolio going forward, we have restructured a debt of IDR 11 trillion since 2016. It has been successful and worked well,” he concluded.

Correctly print profit after loss

PT Bakrie & Brothers Tbk (BNBR) also reported its financial performance for the third quarter of 2022. The company managed to post a net profit of Rp 140 billion after reporting a year-earlier loss in the same quarter.

Last year, during the same period, the company’s profit was only Rp. 45 billion. As for revenue, the company earned just Rp 1.56 trillion last year. But it has now increased by almost 49% to Rp 2.3 trillion, year on year.

“Revenue has increased quite sharply in the first 9 months. Thank you for the revitalization of the Indonesian economy, we can develop together. EBITDA has increased quite well, almost 2 times,” said Anindya.

“Along with revenue, everything is growing from last year, profitability was negative before it turned positive, so the timing is right,” he added.

Anindya said that her company in the future will also focus on expanding its business by continuing the transition to sustainable business, especially in the transportation electrification industry, new and renewable energy (EBT ) or green energy and digitalisation.
