The Russian flag is raised above the administration of Artemovsk (Bakhmut’s Ukrainian name). This was announced on Monday by the founder of PMC “Wagner” Yevgeny Prigozhin.
“April 2, exactly 11:00 p.m. Behind me is the building of the city administration of Artemovsk. This is the Russian flag. Legally we captured Bakhmut,” claimed Prigozhin, whose words were quoted on the Telegram channel of his press service.
It honors the memory of the famous war correspondent Vladlen Tatarsky, who died in an explosion in St. Petersburg on Sunday.
He noted that the commanders of the units of the Russian troops who took over the administration of the city and the entire central district “will carry and raise flags.”
“The enemy remained in the western districts,” added Prigozhin.
