Several dozen enemy assaults per day are beaten off in Bakhmut itself and in its northern and southwestern environs by Ukrainian defenders who do not let the invaders go further, towards Chasovoy Yar and Konstantinovka. Air bombs explode daily in Bakhmut and incendiary Russian ammunition falls from the sky. The occupiers do not disdain to use even gas, it is said in TSN.
The smell of burning, explosions and shooting – now the hallmark of the city is still on the porches. “On Easter they winged in black,” says the soldiers of the 24th Royal Brigade, who are fighting around the clock in street battles with the enemy.
“In a black way” is when almost simultaneously in the part of Bakhmut, which the Ukrainian military continues to control, everything was flying, including phosphorus.
Explosions of heavy air bombs are heard here many times a day. There were several cases when enemies used “invisible” weapons. “Yesterday the pilots got some gas. The fact that someone imagined that the Russians in the Bakhmut direction began the so-called “shell hunger” causes only a sad smile among the defenders of Bakhmut. “We essentially felt that they did not have a “shell hunger”. From almost 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., they hit our positions here from all types of artillery weapons that they have,” adds Stalker.

The city turns into a solid void right before our eyes, say the Ukrainian military. “The enemy simply ‘takes apart’ multi-storey buildings, destroys the infrastructure. From artillery, he dismantles everything,” says fighter Bogdan.
The most powerful enemy shelling usually occurs before the attempts of the invaders to storm the Ukrainian defense line. “If they plan to storm some direction at night, ours are not ours, then they shoot at the rear, at supplies, at reinforcements,” Morpih tells about the tactics of the enemy.
The very same line of fire now passes through the city streets. Shooting battles light up right between the windows of apartment buildings and private houses. “In some cases, the enemy occupies some high-rise buildings, we occupy, and we are already firing literally between these buildings, houses,” the military says.
Marines with fellow scouts from the Royal 24th, a few hours ago, had just completed, in their favor, another impetuous battle at close range. Came out almost unscathed. “We sat at the same post. Well, we heard shelling, shelling, shelling somewhere. And a tank shot. Well, I heard him. And literally two seconds and the arrival was. The shock wave brought the door down. I thought the wall, but I’m moving. I put the door aside and everything is fine, ”says“ Marine ”, how his combat vehicle got.
Despite the significant advantage of the enemy in the number of artillery, steel men from the 24th “iron” brigade, side by side with brothers from other units, methodically destroy enemies both on the ground and from the sky. “Five groups came forward. We found them in a timely manner and worked them out. Well, who, as they say, hasn’t eaten pasok, ”the military joke.
At the same time, the infantrymen recognize that holding back the enemy and, most importantly, surviving in Bakhmut’s hell, the further it becomes more difficult. They survive on luck, which fuels motivation. “Defend your city, your land! We must do our duty,” the soldiers say.
Defenders recognize that more weapons and ammunition, then luck can, as quickly as possible, transform into victory.
