The first day of June arrived with heat. Temperatures reached 95° in Kern County thanks to a high pressure system strengthening over the state.
By Friday, the system will begin to lose strength and move eastward, allowing a low pressure trough to begin dipping into northern and central California, cooling us just in time for the weekend.
Expect windy conditions Saturday through Sunday for Kern County’s mountains and desert communities, with temperatures remaining in the high 80s.
Air quality will be moderate tomorrow. A big warm-up is expected by the end of next week.
