Bakersfield School Shooting Threat Reported – NBC Los Angeles

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.- According to Bakersfield police, officers are investigating a threat made to a Kern High School district. The alarm was generated after a post on the Snapchat social network announcing an alleged shooting at Ridgeview High School.

Bakersfield police said they are aware of the potential danger, but also clarified that other cities in the country received reports of the same threat and, at this time, it is unknown if the threat was specific to Bakersfield.

“The public should be aware that other schools with the name ‘RHS’ have received reports of threats,” officials said.

Police from the city and Kern High School District are working with law enforcement partners to identify the source of the post.
