Bailey Malkiewicz returns to Australia under the WBR Yamaha awning

The WBR Yamaha Bulk Nutrients team has grown into a four-rider team for the 2021 season with Maximus Purvis and Alex Larwood joined by Bailey Malkiewicz and Liam Andrews. Malkiewicz and Andrews will both unite with the WBR Yamaha team and compete in the MX1 and MX2 categories respectively.

Malkiewicz has just returned from a season in Europe and is looking to get things back on track as he plays another season in Australia. The 2018 world junior champion has had a frustrating season playing in the MX2 class of the world championship, but is now injury free and excited to be back home and ready to fight with the YZ450F.

“2020 has been a difficult year for everyone and although I had a great time in Europe and had the chance to race at the world level, there was nothing for me in 2021, it was so better to come back, re-evaluate some things. and I will get back to my best form. My goals to run at world level are not over and I still aspire to come back because I am young and have a lot of time, but I have to make sure I am at the right time, with the right support, and when I am healthy and in good shape.

I learned a lot in Europe and it made me grow in many ways. I think I’ve matured a bit both on and off the bike and can see a little more clearly now where I want to be and what I need to do to get there.

I am very grateful to the WBR Yamaha team who are stepping up and helping me in 2021. We had a great partnership in 2018 when I had my best year so I know I’m surrounded by the right people. I can’t wait to start the season and will be ready to participate in Pro MX “, declared Malkiewicz.
