Palakkad: Vidya, the accused in the case of forging a certificate in the name of Maharaja’s College, has been granted bail by the Mannarkkad court. The court imposed certain conditions for the bail. Vidya has been granted bail with two sureties of Rs 50,000 each. The conditions include not repeating the same offense during this period or thereafter, appearing before the investigating officers on alternate days in a week, not leaving Kerala, and producing his passport. The court has also given permission to the Nileswaram police to make an arrest if necessary. It is expected that Vidya, who was previously granted bail in the Agali case, may be arrested by the Nileswaram police soon.
Vidya’s lawyer argued in court that he was willing to accept any conditions for bail. The lawyer emphasized Vidya’s health, education, and age as factors that should be considered. Furthermore, the lawyer stated that since Vidya had already been in custody for two days, no additional information could be obtained. Taking all these factors into account, the court decided to grant bail to Vidya.
During the proceedings, the prosecution informed the court that Vidya had admitted to forging the document. However, when questioned about the fake seal, the prosecution replied that Vidya had destroyed the original. The prosecution also revealed that the forged documents were created online.
Vidya was initially arrested by the Agli police for creating a fake employment certificate in the name of Maharaja’s College. After being on the run, Vidya was apprehended by the police from Mepayur on Wednesday night.
The case against Vidya involves forging documents in the name of Maharaja’s College and working in Kasargod and Palakkad colleges. Vidya had posed as a guest lecturer at Maharaja’s College for a period of two years. The allegations state that Vidya forged the seal of the college and the signature of the vice-principal.
It has been revealed that Vidya managed to secure employment in two colleges by presenting a fake certificate claiming to have worked as a guest lecturer in the Malayalam section during the years 2018-19 and 2020-21. The fake certificate was created by affixing a counterfeit seal and stamp.
The granting of bail to Vidya has become a significant development in the ongoing forgery certificate case.
