Hammarby IF lead 3–0. The game felt completely decided.
Michael Baidoo of IF Elfsborg then drew two yellow cards.
The first one came in the 79th minute of the game.
Baidoo came in at a fast pace and planted the sole of a shoe in Erabi’s chest.
– At the second yellow, I didn’t mean … It went so fast. But I’m not proud of myself. I’m disappointed to receive my first red card in my career, says Baidoo apologetically.
Sorry Baidoo
He adds:
– I was afraid that I was hurt. I didn’t know if it was to the front or … Sorry for him.
Hammarby IF team captain Nahir Besara was seen holding Baidoo as he walked off the field.
– I said he is a great football player. I think it’s really great. There were only two unnecessary yellow cards on his side. Just forget it, says Besara.
What about the last bet?
– I spoke to Glenn (Nyberg, judge). He wondered if it was completely red or a second yellow. I didn’t think it was red. It wasn’t like he finished the kick. He wanted to get the ball and it happened that he got a kick in the chest. I don’t think there is anything violent in that way.
– It was good that it wasn’t red, that’s the truth.
Baidoo’s investment surprised Jusef Erabi.
– The bet is sick, it’s against me. It’s amazingly done but what do you do. He is calm now, I was hit on the chin, he says.
