Baht Depreciates Against Dollar as US Jobless Claims Drop: Fed Expected to Raise Interest Rates

The Labor Department reported initial claims for unemployment benefits fell 9,000 to a seasonally adjusted 228,000 last week. It was a two-month low and below analysts’ expectations of 242,000, and the market saw the Fed close to ending its rate-raising cycle. After revealing retail sales, the consumer price index (CPI) and the producer price index (PPI) were lower than expected. by investors predicting that The Fed will raise interest rates this month for the last time this year. before cutting interest rates next year

While yesterday, foreign investors bought Thai bonds net 2,862 million baht and sold Thai shares net 1,702 million baht.

Looking at the Thai baht movement today in the range of 34.00-34.30 baht / dollar, it is recommended that importers should buy foreign currencies to mitigate risks. And exporters recommend selling foreign currencies above the level of 34.30 baht / dollar.
