The Bahrain Stock Exchange announced on its official website the listing of short-term Islamic leasing sukuks for a period of 6 months, worth 26 million Bahraini dinars, with investors achieving profits of 6.39%.
The stock exchange stated that the short-term Islamic leasing sukuks, lasting 6 months, issued by the Central Bank of Bahrain on behalf of the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain, will be listed starting today, Sunday.
Short-term Ijarah Sukuks represent a financial instrument of government assets issued by the Central Bank of Bahrain on behalf of the government, which under this issuance offers those assets to investors to purchase them from the government and then rent them to the government in a rental installment, under a lease contract ending with ownership, whereby the government promises to repurchase those assets. At the end of the issuance period at a price representing the original value at which you purchased it from the government.
