Bahn is offering additional booster and Sprinter trains for NRW from the summer timetable on June 12

Düsseldorf

With the start of the summer timetable on June 12, Deutsche Bahn is expanding its long-distance transport offering with new direct connections and additional journeys. The most populous state of North Rhine-Westphalia also benefits from this.

The booster and Sprinter trains, which also run hourly between Hamburg and Cologne, will be expanded from four to five pairs of journeys per day from Sunday, June 12, 2022.

Another afternoon Sprinter leaves Cologne via Düsseldorf, Duisburg, Essen and from there non-stop to Hamburg (7:49 p.m.). The ICE runs daily – now also on Saturdays. In the opposite direction, an ICE will run at 7:54 a.m. from Hamburg Hbf via Bremen, Münster, Essen, Duisburg and Düsseldorf to Cologne.

Frequently without changing trains between Berlin and Münster

From June 12, 2022, the third pair of booster trains between Berlin and Hanover will run again without changing trains: the ICE from Cologne will depart at 10:28 a.m. from Münster via Osnabrück, Hanover and Wolfsburg to Berlin (1:54 p.m ). In the opposite direction, the ICE runs at 3:57 p.m. from Berlin Hbf via Stendal, Wolfsburg, Hanover to Osnabrück, Münster (7:30/38 p.m.) and on to Düsseldorf.

From June 25 to August 5, 2022, instead of the above-mentioned ICE train pair, IC trains will run to Berlin every two hours, because the IC line Amsterdam – Osnabrück – Hanover – Berlin will be diverted via Münster for construction reasons. This will be for Munster in the interim even about every two-hourly direct connections to Amsterdam are offered.

Deutsche Bahn is constantly expanding its long-distance transport offering, the vehicle fleet and the maintenance workshops and expanding the digital services before, during and after the journey. With this, DB intends to continuously attract even more people to Deutsche Bahn.
