Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia revealed that all Indonesian presidents always continued the work programs of their previous presidents. If you don’t continue, according to Bahlil, it will be the same as building a new country.
He conveyed this at the Democracy Symposium & Peaceful Election Declaration ‘Peaceful Elections, Growing Investment for Advanced Indonesia’ at the National Library, Jakarta, Saturday (23/12/2023).
Initially he explained that Indonesia’s economy would be good if political stability was good. According to him, there is no president in Indonesia who is not good.
“Indonesia’s economy will be good if political stability is good. There is no president in Indonesia who is not good, they are all good. They were great in their respective times,” said Bahlil.
“Bung Karno succeeded in founding our nation. Mr. Harto succeeded in building it as the Father of Development, Mr. Habibie was able to save it from the crisis, Gus Dur was able to bring Indonesia to continue the baton from Mr. Habibie,” he continued.
He continued that Megawati Soekarnoputri and Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) had also continued the performance of their previous presidents, and were able to resolve various problems.
“Ms. Mega continued Pak Gus Dur’s relay with various achievements. Pak SBY has had extraordinary achievements for 10 years. He was able to solve big problems in Aceh, the tsunami, and so on. Pak Jokowi was able to complete infrastructure which also continued what Pak SBY did,” he said.
“There is no such thing as a leader who does not continue from before. That is the same as building a new country,” he continued.
Bahlil then emphasized that all the previous president’s work programs would definitely be sustainable. “So there isn’t any, all of this will continue to be sustainable in terms of how to build everything that is already good, we will improve it. If it doesn’t exist yet, make it better. Don’t tear down the existing buildings, something like that,” he added. .
