Bahia announced today the termination of the contract with striker Clayson, a former Corinthians. According to the note released by the club, the two parties agreed to the breakup by mutual agreement. The bond with the Bahian club was valid until the end of this year.
On loan to Cuiabá last season, Clayson had his loan terminated after being accused of assaulting a woman. In turn, the athlete published a note saying that the investigation removed him from the possibility of having participated in the crime.
The player then returned to Bahia, where he spent the entire pre-season. Clayson, however, did not enter the field.
Recently, the striker had his name speculated at Santos, which generated protests from alvinegro fans. However, President Andres Rueda denied the interest.
Clayson arrived at Bahia in 2020. In total, there were 42 games played and only three goals scored.
