Bagnaia: I want to stop Quartararo at the 2021 Italian MotoGP : Okezone Sports

MUGELLO – Lenovo Ducati Team Racer, Francesco Bagnaia, determined to stop Fabio Quartararo in MotoGP Italy 2021. He does not deny that the Monster Energy Yamaha Team racer will be his toughest competitor in the race later at the Mugello Circuit, Sunday (30/5/2021) evening WIB.

In the qualifying session, Bagnaia failed to stop Quartararo who appeared so fast. The French passport racer managed to rank first after recording a time of 1 minute 45.187 seconds.

Bagnaia himself had to settle for being in second place after recording a time of 1 minute 45.417 seconds. The Italian passport racer also admitted that Quartararo’s record was so stunning that he finally broke the fastest time record in one lap.

“Fabio did a great job, because 1 minute 45.1 seconds is something very very difficult,” he added.

Nevertheless, Bagnaia felt sure that he and Quartararo were still in balance. Therefore, Bagnaia is still optimistic that he can achieve the best results in the 2021 Italian MotoGP and beat his tough rival.

“I think our bike at this track is really balanced. In the first and last sectors we are very strong. In sector two we are very close, and in sector three they (Yamaha) are faster than us,” he added.

“So it’s really balanced and tomorrow I think the race could be really fun to watch. This could be a great fight.”

“I really just wanted to stop him (Fabio) on the first lap, because for sure he wants to open a gap and then see what happens.”
