All Indonesia Semifinals take place in Korea Open 2022. This is after Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana beat Yong Jin/Na Sung Seung.
In the quarter-final match which was held at Palma Stadium, Seoul, Friday (8/4/2022) night WIB, Bagas/Fikri faced stiff resistance from Yong/Na in two straight games 22-20 and 21-18.
In the first game, Bagas/Fikri immediately stepped on the gas to lead 4-2. In this game interval, Bagas/Fikri won 11-7. However, after that they lost control.
Yong / Na were able to race the points to equalize the score 12-12. Bagas/Fikri then progressed again to 15-12 before being equated again to 15-15.
The score romp ensued until both reached deuce 20-20. Bagas/Fikri won the first game after winning two consecutive points to win 22-20.
Entering the second game, a fierce duel occurred as Bagas/Fikri and Yong/Na exchanged points. Bagas/Fikri can finally lead 11-10 at the interval.
Bagas/Fikri had time to leave Yong/Na 15-12 before three consecutive points from the opponent made the score 15-15. Bagas/Fikri got the momentum to speed up and reach game points 20-15.
Yong/Na had time to make Bagas/Fikri nervous because they got three points in a row. However, Bagas/Fikri finally locked the match with a 21-18 victory.
As a result, Indonesia also confirmed a place in the final of the Korea Open 2022 because Bagas/Fikri met their seniors Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto in the semifinals, Saturday (9/4/2022) tomorrow.
While one other Indonesian representative Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan met Kang Minhyuk/Seo Seungjae.
