Omar assured that the only one who had access to bring food and utensils to Baduel during his incarceration was him
In the last hours, the Venezuelan journalist Luis Olavarrieta published on his YouTube channel an interview that was carried out with the relatives of the late Raúl Isaías Baduel, a Venezuelan military and politician who lost his life at age 66 on October 12 at cause of cardiac arrest while in prison. As a result of his death, relatives and close associates of the military man have denounced the abuses and human rights violations that Baduel suffered during his years in prison.
Occasionally he has been accused of betraying the socialist regime after having cut off his friendship with the late President Hugo Chávez, due to the attempt to warn the Venezuelan people about the illegal laws that Chávez would impose on the nation. Subsequently, conflicts arose between the two that, according to statements by people close to Baduel, were the reason why he was imprisoned due to his “betrayal.” It should be remembered that in mid-2009 Baduel was imprisoned being accused of acts of corruption, but no evidence was ever shown on the accusations.
During the interview, Olavarrieta invited different people close to Baduel who told about his story and also how they lived his years in prison. Baduel’s former lawyer, Omar Mora Tosta, confessed that his family members were never allowed to have contact with Baduel, claiming that he was the only one who could bring him supplies. However, another piece of information was more controversial than the previous one, and that is that he assured that the military’s daughters were occasionally stripped naked to visit their father.

“Baduel was in Ramo Verde during all that time, subjected to isolations that sometimes exceeded 120 days. The only one who could bring him food, clothes, medicine was me at some point and on many occasions we had too many inconveniences to see him because the pressure was very strong » Tosta assured.
«His family was harassed, his daughters were stripped naked so they could go see him. That kind of terrible thing. added.
So far, the Baduel family remains firm in its quest to obtain prompt justice for the alleged abuses by the regime and the authorities against the military.
