Badminton. The Jarvilloise Cléa Hantz-Alberti signs a double

Grand Est Youth Championship

This weekend, in Jarville

The high mass of the Grand Est youth regional championships took place this weekend on the grounds of TSB Jarville and the Julien Absalon gymnasium in Heillecourt. 200 players, from the 10 departments of the Greater Region and divided into 5 age categories (from chicks to juniors) tried to win a place of finalist synonymous with qualification for the next French championships which will take place in Mulhouse during the week. -end of Ascension Day (May 26-28*).

If the Alsatian clubs of Entente Nord Alsace badminton and Volant des Trois Frontières were represented in number, Meurthe-et-Moselle could count on badminton players from TSB Jarville, Toul, Pont-à-Mousson and Badminton Nancy -Villers. Unfortunately at the end of 48 hours of competition and nearly 265 matches, only TSB Jarville managed to pull out of the game. Thus, Louane Etienne and Cléa Hantz-Alberti offered the title to the Jarvillois club in women’s doubles in the cadet category , Cléa Hantz-Alberti also won gold in mixed doubles, an event in which she had linked her destiny with Basile Berthomier (Red Star Mulhouse), winner of the young people’s singles. In the final this pair took over the TSB Jarville duo composed of Louane Etienne and Mathieu Keller. These three Jarvillois will therefore be present at the French championships.

As far as the final results are concerned, we note that Alsace made a real raid by winning no less than 20 of the 25 titles at stake! Thus, in junior, the ASPTT Strasbourg achieves a small slam because only the title in ladies’ singles escaped it. The Strasbourg entity still left with 6 gold medals. The Entente Nord Alsace offers itself 5 crowns as does the Volant des Trois Frontières club.

-As an organizing league, the Grand Est had two qualifiers per age category and per discipline (young men’s and girls’ singles, double JG and JF, mixed doubles)
